Systems Administrator (Portugal)
Become a SysAdmin that helps support the shaping of the future of sustainable manufacturing
Job description
At Colorifix, we're leading the way for a sustainable future by challenging one of the most environmentally damaging industries in the world, the textile dyeing industry. We're pioneering the production of sustainable and non-toxic dyes at scale, using fermentation technology to produce colorants from microbes. To achieve this, we've relied on the collaboration of an amazing team of experts to develop the strains, fermentors, and digital tools specifically designed to operate in dye house environments.
To assist business operations at client sites, Colorifix has developed an IoT-powered digital platform (Colorifix Webclient) that collects and visualizes fermentation data in real-time. This enables data-driven insights, process control, and monitoring for clients, while helping us create new products and improve existing ones.
We're seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the company's IT at CFX Biotech, our Portuguese subsidiary, where our main operations are based. Your role is to keep our IT infrastructure running reliably while ensuring the Portugal team has the IT support they need to be productive. You'll operate independently on IT matters including network administration, device management, and IT support to our staff. You'll also work with software developers on Colorifix Webclient to ensure the right infrastructure requirements are met, including management of our cloud infrastructure and IoT device fleet deployed at client sites. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and adapt.

About Colorifix Limited
Colorifix is a biotechnology company that has developed the first entirely biological process to produce, deposit and fix pigments onto textiles. Inspired by the way colours are produced in nature and engineered through synthetic biology, our process entirely cuts out the use of harsh chemicals and leads to huge reductions in water and energy consumption.
We provide a plug-in solution for existing dye houses and mills around the world. The technology can be used with standard industry machines and works on a broad range of fabrics from natural to synthetics, allowing us to be cost-competitive and highly scalable.
