Improving the sustainability of the textile dyeing industry
Job Description – Business Development Associate
Company:
We engineer nature's brilliance to pioneer a new approach to colour. At Colorifix we have developed a biological process that replaces the use of harmful chemicals to create colour and dye for the textile industry by using a novel, sustainable, and environmentally friendly process - a radical approach to making colour that is better for the planet and better for people. Colorifix has been recognised for its revolutionary work by being award-winning in both synthetic biology and fashion. We are backed by investors including H&M and Inter IKEA Ventures.
There is a highly interdisciplinary team of brilliant people here, and that is why we are just as proud of the team as we are of the technology. Whilst it is our mission to transform the industry, we will get there faster, and enjoy the journey, by being a great place to work.
We promote and adhere to our company values of Trust, Sustainability, Respect, Inclusivity and Social Conscience.
Role description:
We are seeking a Sales Specialist to drive revenue growth and expand our market share. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of demonstrated, hands-on experience in a quota-driven sales environment, with a relentless focus on hunting new business and closing deals. This role is for a true sales professional who thrives on the challenge of a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and is motivated by uncapped earning potential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Systematically identify, target, and acquire new high-value clients through strategic cold calling, networking, and direct outreach. You will be expected to build your own pipeline from the ground up, with a focus on penetrating new markets and securing high-impact accounts.
- Full-Cycle Deal Management: Take complete ownership of the sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and final close. You will be responsible for qualifying prospects, conducting needs assessments, crafting compelling value propositions, and overcoming objections to drive deals to completion.
- High-Impact Presentations & Demos: Deliver powerful and persuasive sales presentations and product demonstrations that clearly articulate our value proposition and directly address customer pain points. You must be able to think on your feet and tailor your message to a diverse audience of decision-makers.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Act as the eyes and ears of the organization in the field. Gather and report on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform our sales strategy and product development.
- CRM & Reporting Discipline: Maintain an immaculately organized and up-to-date sales pipeline in our CRM system.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Proven Closer: You must have a demonstrable track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex deals.
- Hunter Mentality: A strong desire to actively seek out and win new business, rather than relying on inbound leads.
- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex solutions simply and persuasively.
- Resilience & Grit: The ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive, results-driven attitude.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in CRM software and a strong understanding of sales technology
Attributes:
- A natural drive to win and be the top performer on the team.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own time, and prioritize effectively without constant supervision.
- You possess an unwavering belief in your ability to sell and deliver results.
- Laser-focused on achieving and surpassing sales targets.
- Knowledge of the Fashion / Textile Industry.
- In-depth knowledge of fabric/woven and fibre structures.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically on sales.
- Great interpersonal, communication, and presentational skills.
- High proficiency in English and Portuguese
- Interest in sustainability.

About Colorifix Limited
Colorifix is a biotechnology company that has developed the first entirely biological process to produce, deposit and fix pigments onto textiles. Inspired by the way colours are produced in nature and engineered through synthetic biology, our process entirely cuts out the use of harsh chemicals and leads to huge reductions in water and energy consumption.
We provide a plug-in solution for existing dye houses and mills around the world. The technology can be used with standard industry machines and works on a broad range of fabrics from natural to synthetics, allowing us to be cost-competitive and highly scalable.
